Mums

About

Mums come in two varieties, the cut flower, chrysanthemum, also known as the florist mums and hardy mums also known as garden mums. These flowers are flowering plants of the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae. Garden mums have been around for centuries, with the most diversity found in East Asia and China. They are also native to northeastern Europe.

The hardy mums is a perennial and is widely popular during the fall months. This is due to the fact that most hardy mums can withstand the cold fall temperatures. Mums can come in many different colors of the spectrum ranging from different shades of yellow, orange, pink, maroon, and red. Although its sibling the modern cut flower, chrysanthemum is a single flower the mum is a flowering shrub that not only comes in different colors but also sizes.
