Jeremy Webber Discusses Limonica In GrowerTalks Magazine

Koppert’s US Ornamental Consultant Team Manager, Jeremy Webber, has an article in the February, 2025 edition of GrowerTalks magazine. In A Meaner Mite For A Badder Bug he gives an overview and history of the apex predator Amblydromalus limonicus and why it is so effective against common pests, including the elusive pepper thrips (Thrips parvispinus or TP). His deep dive covers how active the mite is in much cooler weather, its mean attitude toward other bugs, and its capacity to breed faster to keep up with fast-breeding prey. He also explores how Limonica fits into an effective integrated pest management (IPM) program.

Jeremy works with experienced teams in the field and in the lab and has a tremendous amount of knowledge regarding modern (IPM) strategies to share. His extensive background in the industry includes years as a grower and as a trusted biocontrol advisor. He’s worked with greenhouses of all sizes, growing a wide range of crops—edibles, ornamentals, and more—and developing and implementing biological crop protection programs.

GrowerTalks magazine has been the industry’s voice for ornamental horticulture since 1937. Growers and propagators turn to it to learn about the newest standards and practices, including those for biological programs and integrated pest management (IPM).
