Red Headed Flea Beetle Eradication Described in April 2025 GrowerTalks Issue

We Know What Eradicates Red Headed Flea Beetle, an article by Koppert’s national ornamental consultant team manager, Jeremy Webber, appears in the April 2025 issue of GrowerTalks. He discusses the progress that has been made in managing this notorious pest in ornamentals, and a surprising discovery involving nematodes and cranberries. Jeremy goes into detail regarding the subsequent trials, and paints a picture of the work that still needs to be done with respect to rate, location, timing, and application methods of the biosolution.

It’s an interesting behind the scenes look into the journey from discovery to practical, efficient use of a biocontrol in the ornamental plant industry—especially if you’re dealing with red headed flea beetle.

Jeremy Webber rose through several New England production facilities, and was Director of Operations for a large perennial wholesale nursery. He’s shipped a wide range of perennials, shrubs, annuals, and edibles, using both traditional pest treatments and innovative biocontrols, championing hybrid biosolutions.

GrowerTalks magazine has been the industry’s voice for ornamental horticulture since 1937. Growers and propagators turn to it to learn about the newest standards and practices, including those for biological programs and integrated pest management (IPM).
